A Great Work Foundation was born after reflecting on my own educational journey and realizing how my story could inspire others to reach their academic goals. In 2014, I came from Angola, Africa, to the United States with the dream of obtaining an education to provide a better future for my family. Unfortunately, a year into university, my country was hit by a financial crisis that disrupted my education. With no other options, I had to pack my bags and return home.

However, my faith in God helped me believe that the impossible becomes possible for those who have faith and work diligently towards their dreams. Before giving up, I held onto my faith and wrote a letter sharing my story, believing that I only needed one person to see me, read my story, and recognize my worth. Thankfully, my letter reached someone who decided to sponsor my education after reading it. This has been one of the greatest blessings of my life, and today, I am a chemical engineer because of it.

Reflecting on the great work God has done in my life over the past  years, I have felt a burning desire to serve and give back. By the grace of God, I have lived a life in America full of grace and blessings. For this reason, I decided to continue this great work in my life and extend this blessing to other students who are dreaming just as I once did. It is my hope that this foundation will be a blessing to many students, not only in Angola but around the world. The students of today are the future, and a better future starts with education.
